niwatec GmbH is specialised in the development of actuators and controls.

Our product range comprises:

  • Rack and Pinion Actuators from 10 Nm to 12,000 Nm
  • Linear Actuators up to 5,000 kN

niwatec‘s actuator systems are employed in the following fields of application

Operating pressure (control input pressure)

  • Pneumatic actuators up to 12 bar
  • Gas-operated actuators up to 100 bar (higher pressure ranges are available on request)
  • Actuators with gas over oil control up to 100 bar (higher pressure ranges are available on request)
  • Hydraulic actuators up to 250 bar

Ambient temperature

  • -20 °C to +80 °C as standard design
  • -60 °C to +60 °C as low-temperature design
  • Other temperature ranges are available on request

 

Rack & Pinion Actuator

Rack and pinion from 10 Nm to 12.000 Nm

niwatec rack and pinion actuators are available in the following designs:

  • Swivel mounted actuators for actuating valves and fittings with a control angle of 90°, 120°, 180° and 240°
  • Swivel mounted actuators for control tasks
  • Double- and single-acting actuators (with the same dimensions)

End-position adjustment ± 5° as a standard feature. Furthermore, niwatec rack and pinion actuators include a specific, durable slide-bearing system for all manoeuvrable parts, ensuring a high resistance against wear and tear.

Due to its innovative modular design, the control unit allows integrating a large variety of control functions.

Further benefits of niwatec rack and pinion actuators are:

  • All components are corrosion resistant
  • Compatible to all world-wide available ball valve adaptations
  • End-position signalisation can be carried out by means of various limit-switch units positioned directly on top of the actuator
  • All actuator versions can be complemented with gear boxes for manual operatio

Scotch Yoke Actuator

Scotch Yoke Actuators (NWS) from 200 Nm to 600,000 Nm

niwatec Scotch yoke actuators are based on the Scotch yoke mechanism and allow

  • actuating valves and fittings with a control angle of 90°
  • end-position adjustment ± 5° as a standard feature

Owing to an innovative modular design, the following combinations of functions are feasible:

  • double-acting actuators, equipped with two separate, independently working cylinders
  • single-acting actuators (spring open or spring close)

Because of the development of a unique rail mechanism and of specifically coated guideways, niwatec GmbH has been able to optimise the actuator efficiency.

Further benefits of the niwatec Scotch yoke actuators:

  • welded casing particularly suitable for low temperature applications
  • compatible to all commercially obtainable ball valve adaptations
  • end-position signalisation by means of various limit-switch boxes mounted on top of the actuator

Linear Actuator

Linear actuators upto 5.500.000 Nm

niwatec‘s NWLA linear actuators are already established in gas storages, power stations, refineries, in the petrochemistry, and in chemical plants and allow:

  • high pulling load
  • low regulating times

Our innovative modular construction system offers the following functional combinations:

  • double acting actuators
  • single acting actuators (spring opens or spring closes)

Further characteristics of niwatec‘s linear actuators are

  • corrosion resistant cylinders
  • consistently good surface condition with minor coarseness of the cylinder surface
  • compatible with all available gate valve adaptions
  • signalisation of end position by means of various limit switch boxes mounted directly on top of the actuator
  • modular construction of the control allows integration of various control functions, as e.g. regulation combined with ESD shutdown
  • all actuators can be complemented with emergency manual override via hand wheel or hydraulic hand pump
  • integration in already existing automatisation processes is realisable without difficulty
